Program: Neurodiverse Young People

Young Dragons sessions and clubs are designed for neurodiverse young people to socialize through tabletop role-playing games. These sessions and clubs also support young people in creatively expressing themselves while exploring different situations in fun and safe role-play gaming moments.

These sessions can be tailored Therapeutic and educational sessions or set up like our After Schools clubs.

 

Goals

  • Support for young people who are Neruoddiverse – in a normalized gamified/play lead program.
  • A place to creatively express themselves and the emotions they have experienced.
  • Peer experience for young people with similar experiences to come together.
  • Sessions tailored to explore key themes – this may include bullying, social isolation and feeling different.
  • Session tailored to developing skill sets – these may be social skills, emotional or sensory regulation skills or building life skills.

  • Session 2 – 6 Team building, Exploring themes. 
  • Sessions 6-10 Creatively Expressive storytelling.

Each program is designed for up to four young people, a size we recommend for an optimal experience.

What is Young Dragons?

Young Dragons is our inclusive adventure club for children and young people. It includes all of our outreach programs, allowing us to customize the sessions to support young people’s specific needs and situations as they join a community and meet other Young Dragons. We also prefer to use the term Young Dragon to refer to the program name with the pupils.

Our Storytellers

Our storytellers undergo advanced training tailored to specific programs, ensuring they are well-equipped for their roles. The majority of our storytellers have gained experience through their involvement with our sister company, The Role Play Haven. Their proven track record highlights their commitment to facilitating enjoyable, safe, and charitable gaming experiences. Each of them all vetted by our lead Storyteller and Safty Officer.
